The seven-day book festival arrives in Bardonecchia – Torino Oggi

Tuesday 23 April will be World Book and Copyright Day. Inspired by the great festival of Sant Jordi, which is celebrated for the occasion in Spain, Bardonecchia with the Municipal Library they promoted the first edition of the “Book and Rose Festival”, a week of events, from 20 to 27 April, whose absolute protagonists will be books and reading.

It begins on Saturday 20 April, at 5.30 pm, in the Library, with the event “True Stories of the High Valleys” together with the French writer and artist Francois Beaune. On Sunday 21 April, the new bookcrossing points in Bardonecchia will be inaugurated, created by the Melezet Carving School and positioned in various points of the town. An inauguration animated by the readings of the Gruppo Teatro Insieme di Susa and Silenzioinsala Teatro.

The first three days of the week will, however, be largely dedicated to the students of the Bardonecchia schools, from nursery school to the Frejus Institute, who will have the opportunity to meet and participate in readings and workshops organized by the writers Fabrizio Arietti, Manuela Furnari , Valentina Mansone and Giovanni Del Ponte.

A meeting with Giuliana Cerrato, former director of the Moncalieri Library and author, is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. We will naturally talk about books with a look at the library system.

“Rose-flavored reading suggestions” is the theme of the meeting on Wednesday afternoon, open to online reading groups. Books and roses as a gift thanks to the “Lana e fantasia” group of L’Alveare di Bardonecchia. Following the appointment with the writer Luisella Ceretta, who will talk about the book “Magia e Leggende. Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta and Liguria”.

Thursday 25 April Reading workshop in the Library, while on 26 April Treasure hunt for adults and children starting from the Palazzo delle Feste, Via Medail and arriving at the Library. Finally, on April 26th the used book market, organized by the Cooperativa Culturalpe and the Library. The proceeds will be used to purchase new books for the Bardonecchia Library.
