TRENT. If they told you to choose ten records that, in your opinion, represent a century of music, which ones would you choose? A great expert could give you some advice: Enrico Merlin, author of the monumental book «1000 records for a century» published with Il Saggiatore.

In fact, a calendar of meetings on music, emotions, family and autonomy begins on Thursday 18 April, at 8.30 pm, in Sala Nones at Palazzo Benvenuti in via Belenzani in Trento.

The “Author Conversations” event offers a meeting on 18 April at 8.30 pm to discover the extraordinary worlds of the history of twentieth-century music. Enrico Merlin, music historian, composer and guitarist, among the leading experts on Miles Davis with “Are 10 records for a century enough?” will propose a journey through time: ten milestones to try to trace one of the possible routes of the evolution of the sound of the 20th century.

Author of the book “1000 records for a century” published with Il Saggiatore, Merlin takes a sonic journey on the grooves of the records that have marked and revolutionized the way of conceiving and making music. An overview full of surprises with “confirmations, ruptures and continuous evolutions, reversals of styles and genres, technological innovations and new cultural currents”.
