Oggiono: Libri in Villa, the literary review returns from the 13th

From Monday 13th to Saturday 18th May it will be presented, in Villa Sironi to Todaythe third edition of “Books in the Villa”. The initiative takes up the structure of previous editions, although remodulating some aspects. It involves the classes of today’s primary and secondary schools who, in the mornings from Monday to Friday, will have the opportunity to meet illustrators, authors, booksellers and an atelierista and to participate, in most cases, in workshops dedicated to one or more books.
In fact, the third edition of the initiative stands out compared to the previous ones for the choice to involve children and young people more actively through a presentation of the workshop-type texts; the only exception concerns the novel by the Como journalist, Pietro Berra.
As with the other editions, the visiting classes will have the opportunity to visit the book exhibition including reading proposals aimed at their age group, 6-14 years.

On the first floor of the villa, the books selected by ”Il Maggio dei Libri” will be presented – a national initiative in which ”Books in Villa” is part – a small bibliography on Marco Polo on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of his death and books for boys who have been awarded in recent years (Andersen, Strega Ragazze e Ragazzi, Bancarellino, Premio Ragazzi Cento literature).
The books on display belong to the Library and the other associated ones in the Library System of the Lecco Territory; once the exhibition is over, they will be available for loan in the Library.
On Saturday the book exhibition will be open to all, from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm and in the afternoon, at 4pm, the prize-giving ceremony for the winning classes will be held. ”One page leads to another”.

The realization of the initiative was made possible by the fruitful collaboration established with the schools of Oggione, with the Angelo Tenchio cultural club and with the booksellers of ”La Libreria del Ragionier Bianchi” of Como.
