For most emerging artists, international mobility is an indispensable prerogative to broaden their horizons and grow creatively. Precisely for this reason, the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris and the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture join forces to promote the New Grand Tour project, the residency program aimed at young European talents by promoting an exchange network between France and Italy. THE ARTISTIC RESIDENCE THAT INVITES 50 ITALIAN ARTISTS TO THE “GRAND TOUR” Calling together as many as fifty Italian artists (or residents in Italy) who have not yet turned thirty, the announcement – which is inspired by the journeys that lovers of art carried out in Europe in the nineteenth century, but revisiting the concept in a contemporary key – provides research stays in 23 residence centers throughout France, including the Fabbrica Culturale Casell’arte in Venaco, Corsica, Villa Arson in Nice, and the Center Chorégraphique National de Grenoble. The period and duration of the stay vary according to the host center (the list can be consulted online). HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NOTICE There are no discipline limitations: the New Grand Tour is in fact open to all fields of creation, from visual arts and the performative ones, passing through fashion, design, architecture and even gastronomy, craftsmanship, comics and creative writing. To have the opportunity to win the residency, simply forward your application to the appropriate email address, attaching your CV, portfolio and a motivation letter. To participate you have until July 18th; the results will be communicated by September 20th. The official announcement is available online.[Immagine in apertura: Parigi.
