It was organized together with the association by the family of the great painter who made 28 paintings available and curated a series of panels that will show the biography and many other works, many of which cannot be transported because they are very large. Five other works were made available by a collector.

Works of great impact

«These are works of great impact that will fill the room with colours» underlined the president of the association Pine Cross to the presentation.
while the nephew Raffaele Raviglione And Roberta Riowife of Pier Giuseppe Raviglione, gave some previews of the setup.

In particular, Raffaele recalled in a very engaging way some characteristics of his grandfather, who was also a fine calligrapher and knew how to shape wrought iron with incredible skill and technique, creating, among other things, a 12 meter long wrought iron fence for his house. which is still an unsurpassed masterpiece today, with its legendary butterfly wings, which no modern blacksmith could match.

It is worth underlining the commitment of almost the entire board of Ares Liberales, from Croce to his wife Gianna Luparia (secretary of the association) and then the vice president Marco Mattiuzzi (who edited a video to accompany the exhibition, Marco Di Lorenzo, Fedora Federico, Costantino Lucca and Paolo Poli,

The biography

Giuseppe Raviglione (1897-1986) was born in Quinto and painted from the age of 14. He went to the front of the Great War at the age of 18 (in 1980 he was appointed Knight of Vittorio Veneto), then, in an era when hand registers were still used, he was a calligrapher at the Banca Popolare di Novara. When he gets married to Marina Mercanti they move to Paris together. In the city of painters par excellence, Raviglione achieved great success with an important commission from the Italian embassy and in 1929 he exhibited his works at the “Boulevard Ausmann”, also receiving approval from the severe Parisian press. Naturally he breathed the air of the great museums and of the great artists, in particular he approaches Impressionism.
He will then return to Vercelli, continuing and expanding his activity as a painter, but he will always travel a lot and capture not only the typical landscapes of Vercelli but also seascapes, views of Venice, mountain views and much more. He also made the frames which are themselves masterpieces to be admired.
Therefore an unmissable exhibition, free entry.
