During the world premiere of Bad Boys 4, the producer Jerry Bruckheimer is back to talk about Tom Cruise’s long-awaited Top Gun 3, the new chapter in the saga dedicated to the iconic aviator Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell.
Unfortunately, speaking with Deadline, the super-producer of the Transformers saga and the first two episodes of Top Gun has not revealed when Top Gun 3 will be released but he actually confirmed that work on the film is proceeding slowly, as already revealed a few weeks ago, also due to Tom Cruise’s many commitments – currently still working on the set of Mission: Impossible 8. However, Bruckheimer also confirmed that the story of Top Gun 3 is ready and fully outlinedalthough a script has yet to be written.
“We have several interesting ideas that we talked about with Tom Cruisebut we don’t have a script ready yet” Bruckheimer said. “It’s going to take a while to make the movie, I think” Last May, Bruckheimer revealed that Top Gun 3 is in its very early stages of development and what is there”still a long way to go” before the movie is made.”We have a lot of preliminary material“, Bruckheimer said at the time. “We haven’t reached the goal yet. There is a long way to go.“
After the enormous success of Top Gun: Maverick Paramount was quick to announce the third episode of the saga, but it will probably still be several years before we see Tom Cruise flying again: we will keep you updated.
