Saturday 27 April at 4.00 pm in Piazza Ferrero (in case of bad weather in the meeting room of the Town Hall) inauguration of the collective photographic exhibition “Animals in search of an author” on display in the rooms of the “Cav. G. Avena” Museum Complex in Chiusa di Weight. The exhibition is organized by the Museum in collaboration with the Municipality of Chiusa di Pesio, the Carthusian Ecomuseum in Valle Pesio, the Chiusa Antica Association and Insite Tours.

A collective of 10 nature photographers, who love to dedicate themselves above all to photography of animals in freedom, are exhibiting some of their best photographic works dedicated to the birds and mammals of our mountains, rivers and swamps in the province. In recent years, thanks also to the advent of digital, nature photography has had a good following of enthusiasts who have discovered or rediscovered the pleasure of photography, but few of them are willing to get up early, to walk for many hours on terrain often devoid of paths and even waiting for their particular subjects in uncomfortable and often hidden and camouflaged positions.

All this even in the most difficult periods of the year such as in winter or under heavy rain or snow. These ten photographers known above all in the restricted environment of nature photography bring to our attention animals that are often unknown even to those who frequent natural environments and especially the mountains. It is a perfect opportunity to see images of the highest technical level of birds that are difficult to see or very elusive such as the wallcreeper, the eagle, the peregrine falcon; or almost mythical mammals such as the ermine, the marten and obviously the wolf and the deer.

Trying to understand them, to understand their life and times, these photographers went to places that are often ignored, sometimes set aside, because they do not lead to the most famous peaks, to refuges, nor to the highest altitudes. Only debris, unsteady cliffs, folds of the mountain where however they found their rare gems.

In these places we move with attention, respect, in silence; one never imposes one’s presence. The only characteristic that all their photos have in common is their absolutely wild origin. Nothing of what you will see was filmed in artificial environments, so no domesticated animals, zoos, falconers, cages, menageries or other human stupidities. Everything and only in free nature!

The ten protagonists of the exhibition are: Massimo Bruno, Gabri Cristiani, Michelangelo Giordano, Andrea Sangari, Davide Otta, Lucia Pascale, Fabrizio Girardi, Victoria Stanciu, Danilo Piovanotto and Maurizio Zarpellon.

It will be possible to visit the exhibition at the following times: from Tuesday to Saturday 9.30-12.00/15.30-17.30.
