A few days after the European elections, we continue to say all the winners and all the losers. Bianca Berlinguer couldn’t miss it and asked herself in her It’s always Cartabianca who really won the past consultations. During her broadcast on Rete 4, the Mediaset presenter passed the question to Gad Lerner who responded by giving his vision of the results of the polls. “At a European level, the winners are those who don’t believe in Europe – begins the journalist – the sum of the largest party, who are the abstentions throughout Europe, followed by the black wave”.

Distrust in the Europe of 27 is therefore in first place: not Giorgia Meloni with over 28% of the votes, nor Elly Schlein with 24%, much less the overwhelming results in Germany and France, rather the people who did not have the polls not even seen and those who, like AFD in Germany or Marine Le Pen in France, have always contested the EU. Lerner continues his reasoning and returns to what he defined as a “black wave” and identifies it by quoting the words of the President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, to Berlinguer: “Those who, like President La Russa, when discussing with you, said ‘the Hungarians can decide not to respect community laws’ or he would tell you ‘Meloni will decide whether or not to be with Ursula von der Leyen in the interests of the Italians’”.

Then he closes his reasoning by underlining what for him is a paradox born from the victory of the Eurosceptics – the “black wave” he spoke of – and which could jeopardize the future of the continent: “The idea is the national state, the interests of this place are more important than Europe – he explains – it is something that creaks in European architecture and also in the peace of this continent”.
