They place the Palestinian flag on the roadside, Israeli settler kicks it: booby trap is triggered

A Israeli army reservist was injured today due to a improvised explosive device which triggered unintentionally and inadvertently while was trying to remove a Palestinian flag placed in roadside fields near an Israeli settlement in the north of the West Bank. The terrible scene was captured on an amateur video recorder by other residents of the area who were filming the removal of the flag from a car.

The episode next toKochav Hashahar settlement, an Israeli settlement in the northern West Bank located on a mountain ridge overlooking the Jordan Valley. The flag, placed on a rigid pole in the middle of the uncultivated fields of the area at the foot of a small hill but visible from the road, seems to have appeared in the previous hours, probably at night.

In the short video you can see a man approaching the flag from the road through the tall grass and then he kicks her away but is instantly hit by a sudden explosion. By removing the banner, the man apparently activated an explosive charge that had been placed under the flag, Israeli media reported on Sunday.

Initial information stated that he was an Israeli resident of Binyamin but then Israeli authorities confirmed that he was a reservist from the IDF, the Israeli army, who was at home on temporary leave. In fact, the IDF later confirmed that the Israeli was an IDF soldier who was on vacation. The army also said that IDF troops were searching the area for suspects.

Luckily the man was injured he did not suffer serious injuries. The emergency services who responded to the scene, in fact, confirmed that he was treated on site for minor injuries and refused to be transported to hospital.
