Paris, attack on the airport: they try to block a repatriation
Descriptive text here

More moments of tension at an airport to prevent the repatriation of a foreigner but, this time, the attack occurred in the Parisian airport of Charles de Gaulle. The police officers were busy executing an expulsion order for a Turkish citizen, Firaz Korkmaz, when a group of foreigners broke into the airport to protest. There were also contacts with the police, who struggled to bring the situation back to normal, while passengers in transit whistled and complained about what they saw. The situation in Europe is increasingly tense and what happened at Charles de Gaulle airport is very similar to what the anarchists did at Malpensawhere they managed to get to the runway, under the plane, to block the repatriation of a Moroccan.

According to Turkish media reports, the attack on the agents involved in the repatriation was carried out by some supporters of the Pkk, classified as a terrorist and paramilitary organization. Korkmaz himself is said to be an active member of the PKK and for this reason he was removed from France. There would have been fifty people who led the assault at the French airport, where they eventually also registered three injured, not serious, among airport operators. Among them also a woman. But extensive damage was also reported inside the airport, where the fight took place. No arrests were carried out by the French police, who nevertheless managed to get the Turkish citizen on the plane to complete the repatriation operations.

There was very little media coverage of the event among the transalpine media. Most of the news can be found through Turkish sources. The new frontier against expulsions therefore seems to be airports. At Charles de Gaulle airport the action was carried out inside the main building and there were no delays in air traffic, unlike what happened at Malpensa, even if in the following hours there was damage count. In the Milanese airport, the anarchists managed to reach the runway and for this reason a possible internal support is being investigated, which would have helped the attackers in identifying the security doors, which as such can never be closed, which lead directly on the external square.

The alert throughout Europe it is maximum: countries are gearing up to facilitate the expulsion of unwanted individuals but they have to deal with actions of this type, which risk multiplying.
