Following the death of his father, for which he feels guilty, Tracy Wrey she is devastated and begins to have severe depressive crises and personality disorders. They are forced to admit her to a health facility. On the anniversary of her father’s death, the twin sister Jennifer, a famous writer of romance novels, goes to visit her. Something about her snaps in Tracy’s mind: she drugs her sister, she assumes her identity and runs away from that place, to have a life that she has never had. She doesn’t know, however, that her sister’s life is complicated: her teenage daughter hates her, she is the victim of a stalker and she is also being blackmailed. While the real Jennifer is not believed in the institution, Tracy begins to feel ill because she is not taking the medicine she desperately needs. She can no longer control herself and will start doing terrible things. Eventually a terrifying truth, kept hidden for too long with unspeakable consequences, will be revealed to her.
