Rai1, Trieste this morning at “Linea Verde Illumina”

(askanews) – A group of athletes who made Italy great in the world of sport and a territory of great charm, a border land that holds precious naturalistic and architectural treasures: the journey of “Linea Verde Illumina”, led by Francesco Gasparri with the participation of Daria Luppino, broadcast this morning at 11.25 on Rai 1, arrives in Friuli Venezia Giulia this week, from Trieste to the Carnic Alps. Great champions and enchanting landscapes to talk about life in the open air, movement as a source of physical and mental well-being, the importance of sports disciplines for the development of a healthy society. Francesco Gasparri’s itinerary will start from Trieste, where he will meet Manuela Di Centa, a great cross-country skiing champion: together they will explore the center of the capital, a fascinating city rich in history. Next stop on the Corno river, where thanks to the collaboration with Sport and Health young and old can practice canoeing and rowing. Francesco Gasparri will then launch himself into paragliding with the world champion of this discipline, Nicole Fedele, a true Friulian and queen of long distances.

In the woods above Paluzza, at the foot of the Carnic peaks, meeting with Giorgio Di Centa, brother of Manuela, one of the very few athletes to have won two gold medals in the same Olympics: having left the competitive activity of cross-country skiing, Giorgio Di Centa has made life in close contact with nature a lifestyle. With Fabio Meraldi, technical director of the national team, Francesco Gasparri will discover the secrets of ski mountaineering, which from the next Games in Milan Cortina will become an Olympic discipline. Finally, mental training and nutrition and well-being will be the topics that Daria Luppino will address together with the “lord of the rings” Jury Chechi and the “baron” of rugby Andrea Lo Cicero.
