Swiss TV
In the border areas, Swiss TV was a traveling companion, a constant reference for those looking for quality, information, entertainment and, let’s face it, even a bit of healthy and “characteristic” humor.
Because while in Italy from “Drive In” onwards trash has gained positions to become today’s top prime time program on all channels, on the television of our neighbors the style, the lack of shouting and the search for the audience at all costs made us become attached to their programs.
In some cases it represented a real “television” relief valve.
But over the years some Swiss TV programs have become real gems, unmissable. Especially investigative ones. Disappeared from Italian screens with the arrival of digital terrestrial.
UNEMPLOYMENT IN SWITZERLAND AND THE SEARCH FOR WORKERS ABROAD
In fact, today RSI broadcasts its programs only on Swiss territory.
Although, in the first years of the introduction of the DGT, the programs of the Italian-language Swiss Radio and Television were visible in the regions of Northern Italy thanks to retransmission on some regional channels.
Furthermore, in the border areas near Swiss territory, until 3 June 2019, the Multiplex SRG SSR Idèe Suisse broadcasting some Swiss channels could be received on digital terrestrial frequencies.
But from this date, public Swiss TV (RSI) is no longer broadcast on digital terrestrial, disappearing from normal television frequencies in Switzerland and obviously no longer visible in Italy.
How to watch Swiss TV
Today, however, thanks to the web, on the web portals tvsvizzera.it and rsi.ch and through the two free applications tvsvizzera.it and Play RSI you can stream some RSI information, culture and entertainment programs for free.
Mostly made directly by Swiss TV and not broadcast in other countries.
But quite a few contents cannot be followed outside Switzerland due to national viewing rights issues, as there is no license for broadcasting in Italy.
When they are not available for our country the writing “For legal reasons this video is only available within Switzerland” appears.
