With a curriculum vitae Emmy Award (TV’s Oscar) won in 2023leaves tonight Family secrets, new Turkish drama on which Mediaset is focusing this summer. So much so that it was launched immediately, as a counter-schedule to Euro 2024 (on Rai 1): it will be broadcast every Sunday. It’s the second one, after The rose of revenge (on Fridays always on Canale 5 in prime time).
Family secrets won an Emmy for Best International Soap Opera of 2023. In Türkiye it reached the third and final season. In all it is about 95 episodes which aired from 2021 to May 26, 2024. It basically just ended. In Italy it is visible on Canale 5 in prime time from today, Sunday 16 June. Contemporary is also planned streaming on Mediaset Infinity. The episodes will then remain available on the free platform. Which are transmitted 3 per evening. Each episode lasts approximately 35′.
Turkish fiction tells the story intricate events of a family placed in front of unspeakable secrets and mysteries of the past. The story revolves around the respected prosecutor Ilgaz (Kaan Urgancıoğlu), who lives and judges people by principles of honesty, honor and respect. With him, there are his father, the policeman Metin (Hüseyin Avni Danyal), and the lawyer Ceylin (Pinar Deniz), who knows no limits when it comes to enforcing the rules.
A homocide changes their lives forever…
Istanbul. District Attorney Ilgaz finds himself dealing with a family case. Involved are his father Metin, police inspector and head of homicide, and his brother Cinar. The latter is the main accused of the murder of a woman. The body was found in a dumpster. Nearby, Metin’s ATM which the chief inspector himself had reported missing, accusing his son Cinar of theft. In fact, there is no bad blood between the two. The prosecutor, however, is not convinced and asks the lawyer Ceylin to defend his brother. The two have opposite methods, but must work together to prove Cinar’s innocence. He is upright, she stops at nothing, going so far as to secretly record their conversations.
And it is she who finds, in Metin’s car, a cardigan stained with blood…
