Because The Boys got a little tired, but we love it anyway

The Boys 4 should make us tired but instead it’s addictive. I wrote like this in the review of the first episodes, and here I would like to focus on this aspect.

The main problem is that, for several editions now, the Amazon Prime Video series has given the impression of wanting greatly expand the narrativeobviously with the aim of keeping viewers glued to the screen for as long as possible.

Well, let’s say that fortunately it seems that the streaming giant has understood that it has to make a point, and in fact The Boys 5 will be the last season. In the meantime, however, the fourth season seems to be built on the wave of filler. Let me explain: since Season 2, the television adaptation of Garth Ennis’ comic series offers more or less the same narrative structure. A plan to destabilize or defeat the Supers takes shape, but following a final battle everything returns to the previous status quo again.

The impression is that this The Boys 4 also seems to be built like this: very high tension, with the bad boys doing everything to take down Patriot and the leader of the Seven who constantly seems on the verge of exploding.

And yet… everything is always beautiful, because the show has style to spare, a biting, ironic and effective writing, a graphic and over the top staging that works even when it is an end in itself. In short, simply put, we love her anyway.

The hope is that the latest episodes will change the rules of the game a little. In the meantime I propose to you, above, the video review dedicated to the first episodes of The Boys 4. Let us know yours!
