A Real Man (from Thursday 2 May on Netflix)
After the great success of The Newsroomthe Emmy won for Godless it’s the last one American Rust, Jeff Daniels returns. The American actor is the protagonist of A Man in Full, based on the novel of the same name by Tom Wolfe and signed by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies And The Undoing, just to mention two recent successes). Daniels plays Charlie Crooker, Atlanta real estate mogul struggling with an unexpected collapse. Hated by many, Crooker will find himself having to fight to defend the empire he created. In the cast of A Real Man There are also Diane Lane (House of Cards) and Lucy Liu (Elementary). The series will be available on Netflix from Thursday 2 May.
Shardlake (from mWednesday May 1st on Disney+)
Mysteries, suspense and subterfuge at the Tudor court. Based on the novels by CJ Sansom, Shardlake (four episodes) is a mystery set in 16th century England, in the period of the suppression of the monasteries. The protagonist is commissioned by Cromwell to investigate the murder of one of his men in a monastery in the town of Scarnsea. On the opposite front, the monks who will try in every way to save their order. Starring Arthur Hughes, Sean Bean (game of Thrones) and Anthony Boyle. The series was written by Stephen Butchard (The Good Mothers).
Fiasco (from Tuesday 30 April on Netflix)
Seven years ago Five Igor Gotesman, Pierre Niney and Francois Civil return with Fiasco, French miniseries that pokes fun at the world of cinema. The protagonist is Raphael, who wants to make his first film in homage to his grandmother who fought the Nazis. But it’s not that simple: the project plans to start from prehistory to arrive at D-Day, passing through the Viking era. Between setbacks and problems on set, there is a smell of fiasco, which is also the title of this series available from Tuesday 30 April on Netflix.
Purple like the Sea 2 (from Friday 3 May on Channel 5)
After the preview on Mediaset Infinity, the second season of. will also arrive on Canale 5 from Friday 3 May Purple like the Sea. The story is that of Viola Vitale, who leaves Paris to return to his Palermo and look for the father he never knew. Here he begins to work as a crime reporter and meets police inspector Francesco Demirwith whom he collaborates on some murder cases. Also using her “superpower”: Viola, nomen omen, is able to perceive the feelings of other people and associate them with colors. They are in the role of protagonists Francesca Chillemi and Can Yaman. The series is loosely based on the novel Do you know summer? by Simona Tanzini (Sellerio).
The suspect (from Wednesday 1 May on Rai Premium)
Sometimes they come back. In a week lacking in releases, Rai Premium dusts off The suspect (original title Bajo Sospecha), Spanish series from 2015 already broadcast on Canale 5. On the day of his first communion Alicia, a 10 year old girl, disappears into thin air. The policemen in charge of the investigation, agent Victor Reyes and inspector Laura Cortés, are certain of one thing: that one of the guests at the ceremony, probably a family member, is behind the disappearance. To investigate without arousing suspicion, in agreement with Commissioner Casas, they pose as husband and wife. The cast of the series, two seasons in total, includes Yon Gonzalez, Blanca Romero and Lluis Homa.
