Marco Travaglio: I read the papers, Scurati was not censored by Rai. Bortone made the mess

The director of Fatto Quotidiano Marco Travaglio says that the writer Antonio Scurati was not censored by Rai. And that in reality the mess was made by the presenter What will be Serena Bortone. Travaglio reconstructs the story from the beginning. That is, from the negotiation between the writer and Rai which ends on April 15th with a fee of 1,500 euros authorized by the Contracts Office. But then the editorial team decides to send the monologue to the Insights Directorate of Paolo Corsini and his deputy Giovanni Alibrandi. At that point, he explains, Corsini and Alibrandi decided to cancel the contract to offer Scurati a free participation.

When they see that it has been registered as such, they assume that the writer has accepted and give the OK to the press release. But Bortone did not warn Scurati of the change of plan. The presenter warns the structure managers who, however, do not respond immediately. And then she publishes the post on Instagram in which she announces the censorship. «But Scurati still has train tickets to and from Milan and the Roman hotel booked by Rai and authorized on Friday morning by Alibrandi, who will only cancel them at 1pm. The writer understandably decides not to leave. But the Rai managers never said that he shouldn’t read his monologue. They are so stupid that they seem like censors even the rare times they aren’t”, concludes Travaglio.
