Elisabeth Moss is the protagonist of The Veil, an FX series released in the USA on April 30th on Hulu. During the filming, the actress suffered a serious injuryas she herself told during an interview with Variety.
The accident occurred on the set of the second episode, during a particularly tense scene, set on the rooftops of the city of Istanbul: “The scene you’ll see in the show is from the second time we shot it, about six weeks later. The first time I hit a wall the wrong way, and I lay on the roof for a couple of hours“Moss said.
At that moment, co-producer Denise Di Novi was next to the actress, who said she was particularly worried about her colleague, underlining the intrinsic complexity of the scene he was shooting. Despite having broken a vertebra in her back, Moss insisted on showing up on set the next day, refusing to stop production on the show.
“We shot the next day, at the airport. In the scenes set in the Paris airport and which you will see during the episode, I have a broken back. I tried to convince them to put a green blanket on me and use visual effects on me“. Meanwhile, Moss’ mind kept returning to the events of the previous day, with the fear of not being able to reshoot the scene in question.”I didn’t know if we would be able to shoot on this roof of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul again. This is not something that easy to achieve. But fortunately the production, with the support of FX – thank God – was able to go back and shoot again. It was an incredible opportunity“, concluded the actress.
