The presenter from Pavia is one of the pillars of Mediaset. Gerry Scotti, defined by many as Mike Bongiorno’s heir, is the protagonist of numerous programs, and the public likes him a lot thanks to his friendliness and cheerfulness. Thanks to his competence and friendliness he has brought success to numerous Canale 5 programmes, and today he is held in high regard by the Mediaset management, who call him when they find themselves in difficulty and need to launch some programme. In fact, Gerry Scotti has the ability to attract millions of spectators to the small screen: a characteristic acquired over years and years of apprenticeship, made between radio and TV.
Born in a small town in the province of Pavia in 1956, he then moved with his family to Milan, where he attended classical high school and then the faculty of Law, although later he abandoned it a few exams before graduating to dedicate himself to his great passion for radio. Scotti’s career began just like this, first working at Radio Milano International and then moving on to Radio Deejay in 1982, wanted by Claudio Cecchetto.
It is thanks to the producer and talent scout that he also landed on television with DeeJay Television, then moving on to Candid Camera, Smile and Festivalbar. His debut at the helm of a quiz show took place in 1990 when he was entrusted with the helm of Il Gioco dei Nove in place of Raimondo Vianello. Among the many programs in which he will then star also Buona Domenica, La sai l’ultima?, and naturally two programs that will establish him as the Mediaset face par excellence: Word of Mouth and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.

A very successful career, but which went hand in hand with a rather turbulent private life: for 18 years, from 1991 to 2009, Gerry was married to Patrizia Grosso, with whom he had Edoardo in 1992. The two broke up, apparently following a betrayal by his partner and the host has never hidden that he suffered a lot from her divorce.
“When I separated and then got divorced, I was ashamed of having finished my family history. I had to pack my bags and leave my house, the place where my son was born and lived.” he told Verissimo. Luckily, in 2011 Gabriella Perino arrived in his lifean architect he had already met years before but with whom the spark had never struck.
Since then, the two have never been separated and for Scotti he is a fundamental presence. Why, then, doesn’t the woman appear in the photos of the recent Christmas holidays? No crisis, as one might imagine: Gerry preferred to send ironic greetings to all his fans, publishing not banal family photos, but a shot of a lush pink cabbage! Scotti certainly knows how to amaze his admirers.
