Simona from Abruzzo is the competitor who played last night, Sunday 5 May 2024, ad Your business, the Rai 1 access time game show hosted by Amadeus. She was escorted to the studio by her sister Barbara, she was the protagonist of an evening on a roller coaster, started out disastrously and put back on her feet with stubbornness and a pinch of luck, so as to allow the young woman to return home with a sum of all respect. Here’s how she went.
Your business (5 May), Simona’s match
Like every evening, in the Amadeus studio we start with presentations. Simona is originally from Ornano Grande, a small village in the province of Teramo, she is the mother of two children and works in a biscuit factory. Her evening begins by fishing the package number 20but the first part of his game is nothing short of catastrophic, so much so that he finds himself halfway through the evening without super prizes at stake and with the impression – also feared by Amadeus – of an inevitable swerve towards lucky region. At that point, however, comes a turning point. The Doctor picks up the phone and makes a something never done beforeproposing the exchange of the parcel with the opening of even eight packs. “I think it’s a record” observes Amadeus, who then, to dampen the tension, rises among the audience and plays with a spectator who seemed a little disoriented: “You don’t sleep for the first 15 minutes of the program, maybe after”.
The focus then returns to the match. Simona decides to change the package (she leaves the 20th for the 19th) and from there a new one begins triumphal ride which puts her back in the game, because 7 of the 8 calls agreed with the Doctor draw blue packages. We therefore arrive on the final straight of the episode with 3 parcels in play, a blue one of 1 euro and two red ones of 10 thousand and 30 thousand euros. The Doctor’s offer is not one of the unforgettable ones: 8 thousand euros, a sum rejected by Simona who then attracts the spotlight by telling the powerful story which ties her to the number 19. “To 13 and 17 (the numbers of the packages remaining in play in addition to hers, ed) I am tied because these are the days in which my two children were born – she explains – The 19th brought me much more bad luck in my lifeor rather 2019, a year in which I had a 45-day hospital stay, but I want to give it a second chance.”
Simona’s story and the (double) dream with Padre Pio
Simona, therefore, recounts in detail her health vicissitudes, always keeping a smile on her lips, also revealing a double visit in a dream she received from Padre Pio and defining herself as a “miraculous”:
“That year I was diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease. A few days after the diagnosis, I had a dream. I don’t believe in dreams, I don’t believe in anything in general. That night I dreamed of myself Father Pio who grabbed my hand to tell me “you have to come and visit me”. In the morning I woke up and let it go. “It’s a dream, I must have eaten a lot.” The next night I felt her arm being grabbed again… she was shaking me. “I told you that you have to come and visit me, I won’t tell you again.” I woke up with a start, called the nurse. “Did you happen to come to the room?” “We didn’t do anything to you, we didn’t touch you.” The next morning I got the diagnosis with treatment. I’m miraculous because I’m very well with the problem I have. After some time I went to visit him. I had another little girl. I baptized the little girl on September 22nd which is the feast of Padre Pio. This is why I’m not afraid to challenge the doctor: I’ve seen so many… I’m not afraid of it”
The happy epilogue (after the disastrous beginning)
After having thrilled Amadeus and the studio with her story, Simona continues with her game and finds the last blue package, thus allowing the host to launch into the usual ritual of the scream “safe money“. The final minutes of the evening are accompanied by the story of another dream of the competitor, this time starring Amadeus: “Ama, I’ve been dreaming of you for three nights with a package in your hand that contains nothing; no number, no figure, and I say: ‘talk to me, tell me something’, instead you are silent, you didn’t speak”. “Nothing, I’m stupid even in the dream”, the host comments, laughing.
Finally it ends with little pathos, because with two winning options – 30 thousand and 10 thousand euros – the competitor immediately rejects the proposal of 19 thousand euros and goes straight like a train towards the opening of her package, which turns out to contain 30 thousand euros. The evening, therefore, can end in celebration, despite what seemed like a disastrous start.
