As revealed in January, Daniels opened up development space to explore ideas for a sequel series The Office, Emmy winner. The future new series, which is not a reboot, is said to be set in a new office with new characters, but lives in the same world as the mockumentary series led by Steve Carell which follows the employees of the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictitious paper company Dunder Mifflin. Daniels indicated that a new iteration of The Office it could follow a crew making a documentary on a different topic.
