Doc – In your hands, one of Rai’s most beloved medical dramas, continues to conquer audiences beyond Italian borders. The drama, known for its mix of emotion and pathos, is about to arrive in Türkiye with an official remake that will bring new faces and an already beloved story to the screen. Among these, İbrahim Çelikkol stands out, known to Italians for his role in Terra Amaraready to play the protagonist who in Italy is Luca Argentero.

After having also conquered the USA, the Italian medical drama that has moved millions of viewers is preparing to live a second life in Türkiye. The series, locally titled “The Doctor: In Another Life“, will be broadcast on the NOW Türkiye platform and is produced by the German-Turkish house Dass Yapım, one of the most important in the panorama of Turkish dramas.

In the Turkish version, the protagonist change name but not destiny: Andrea Fanti becomes Prof. Dr. Kulala brilliant doctor at Terra Hospital, respected and unreachable. Her perfect life is turned upside down by an attack and an emergency operation: when she wakes up, İnan discovers of having lost twelve years of memoryerasing career, love and family ties. An intense premise that promises to excite as much as the Italian original, adding a touch of pathos typical of Turkish dramas.

İbrahim Çelikkol: the star of Terra Amara becomes the new Doc

Taking on the role of İnan Kural is İbrahim Çelikkol, actor loved by the Italian public thanks to the role of Hakan in Terra Amara. The choice is not random: Çelikkol brings with him a mix of physical intensity and emotional fragility, perfect characteristics for playing a man dealing with a life turned upside down by his lost memory. Next to him we find Sıla Türkoğlu nei panni di Elif, İnan’s love interest, while other characters follow Italian figures such as his wife and colleague, with names and characterizations adapted to Turkish taste.

The Turkish remake is not limited to a simple translation: Doctor: In Another Life traduce l’anima di Doc in a different cultural context, maintaining the emotional strength of the original but adapting it to new narrative codes. The title itself, “Başka Hayatta” (“in another life”), perfectly summarizes the protagonist’s story and the universal meaning of the series: we have all, at least once, had the sensation of living another life. With this new version, Doc once again demonstrates how his stories are universal and capable of moving viewers all over the world. Meanwhile, in Italy the wait for the fourth season of the TV series is growing: Doc 4 is expected on Rai 1 in spring 2026, probably in March.
