Bari, 1,100-seat bleachers for the New Year’s concert: here’s how to enter

The big stage in Piazza Libertà is almost ready. Big screens, seats and barriers are already there, waiting for the city to light up to the rhythm of music to celebrate the arrival of the new year with the big concert. “New Year’s Eve in music” will not only make the people of Bari and the tourists who have arrived in the city dance, but also all the Italians who will follow the event broadcast live on Canale 5, hosted by Federica Panicucci and Fabio Rovazzi.

The area will be able to accommodate around 4 thousand people standing, in addition to the 1,100 seats in the stands. Access will be free, free and without reservation, until seats are exhausted: the precise opening time will be decided this morning, but access will be allowed from late afternoon. Even the less fortunate who are unable to secure a seat will be able to follow the show from the giant screens.

On stage, starting from 9.45 pm, musicians and great performers who have made the history of Italian song will take turns together with the idols of the youngest, including Gigi D’Alessio, Umberto Tozzi, Raf, The Kolors, Sarah Toscano, Baby K, Fred De Palma, Riccardo Fogli, Iva Zanicchi, Mietta, Mida, Federica Abbate, Tony Maiello, Alessio Bernabei, I Desideri, Petit, Mew, Young Hash, Vida Loca, Cioffi and Eddie Brock.

For a similar event it will be necessary to have everything under control, also to avoid the inconvenience and chaos that occurred on 24 December in the streets of central Bari, especially in Umbertino. The rules of the ordinance issued for Christmas remain valid, therefore no unauthorized DJ sets, take-away drinks in glasses or glass bottles and the serving of unauthorized food and drinks. Furthermore, from 1pm on Wednesday until 5am the following morning, in some areas of the center it will be forbidden to serve, sell to take away or bring on the street drinks in glass bottles and aluminum cans, but also in plastic containers with caps.

It will also be forbidden to carry pepper spray or sprays containing stinging substances with you. The bans will be valid for Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, Via Roberto da Bari (between Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Via Piccinni), Via Andrea da Bari (between Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Via Piccinni), Piazza Chiurlia and Piazza Massari. The limitations of the concert, however, will intersect with those foreseen for the other major event of the day. A “perfect storm”, in fact, meant that on 31 December the journey of the Milan-Cortina Olympic and Paralympic flame passed through Bari. Puglia is the ninth region in chronological order to host the passage of the flame: a “Village” will be set up in Largo Giannella by the sponsors, in which afternoon events of music, art, sport and solidarity are planned, starting from 3.30 pm.

The flame’s Bari journey will start from Carbonara and arrive in the center: from Wednesday morning, arriving by car in Bari could be very complex. In fact, from 10am to 6pm, a stop ban will be established in via Falcone e Borsellino, via Beatillo, Corso Cavour, the seafront Herald of Crollalanza and Piazza Diaz. Traffic will be interrupted during the passage of the Flame starting from 3pm along the entire route of the caravan. The streets involved, starting from exit 12 of state road 16 (Carbonara-Carrassi), Corso De Gasperi, Via Alberotanza, Viale Falcone e Borsellino, Viale Einaudi, Viale della Resistenza, Viale della Repubblica, Viale Unità d’Italia, Via Capruzzi, under Via Duca degli Abruzzi, Piazza Luigi di Savoia, Via De Giosa, Via Cardassi, Via Beatillo, Piazza Umberto I, Via Nicolai, via De Rossi, via Piccinni, Corso Cavour, Araldo Di Crollalanza seafront and Piazzale Giannella, where the Fiamma is expected to arrive.

Furthermore, from 3pm to 8pm, a transit ban has also been established on Piazza Armando Diaz, on the roadway between Largo Adua and the Nazario Sauro seafront. However, the means used by the organization, those used for rescue and the public force are excluded from the restrictive measure. Buses are also busy studying a specific road plan, so as to allow everyone to reach the center and discourage the use of cars.
