According to AdnKronos, the presenter has undergone a new operation. The first dates back to last January: “I had recently started shooting the film Diamonds Of Ferzan Ozpetek when I felt discomfort in one eye. I saw badly, blurred and one evening, in front of the TV, I realized I could only see on one side. I had a retinal hemorrhage caused by a pathology, exudative maculopathy“, he revealed to the weekly People. After the discovery she underwent the first emergency operation, aware of having to do others: “Professor Cusumano had said that I would no longer see out of my right eye, but instead I recovered a little. I should stay calm and quiet but I bang myself like crazyI work a lot, I never save myself and I travel up and down on the train between Rome and Milan”, he told the newspaper edited by Umberto Brindani.

What is maculopathy? It is an eye pathology linked to the degeneration of the central retina and in particular of the macula, a section particularly rich in photoreceptors, the nerve cells sensitive to light. If the macula is damaged, there are significant consequences on vision. Exudative (wet) maculopathy it is due to the presence of new capillaries which, if broken, spill blood and serum on the retina and destroy the macula.
