Lugo (Ravenna), 1 July 2024 – Today images of the May 2023 flood they will be the protagonists of the Lugo summer film festival organized at the Carmine arena. From 9.30pm the public will be able to attendfree admission without reservation until seats are filled, the screening of the documentary film entitled ‘I saw the end of the world’created by Valerio Baroncini, deputy director of the Carlino, and Marco Santangelo, and produced by Qn – il Resto del Carlino with the patronage of the Region and Cineteca di Bologna. To make it, both followed families, law enforcement and volunteers for a year and used the original music by Marco ‘Reno’ Solferini. In the theater They will be present the director and deputy director of Resto del Carlino, Agnes Pini e Valerio Baronciniand the mayor of the city, Elena Zannoniwhich will see for the first time the images that make up the documentary film already screened in Lugo in recent weeks on the occasion of the initiatives organized in memory of the flood and the tragic moments experienced by the citizens, one year later. “The flood is and will certainly remain an open wound in our territory, an indelible memory and also a moment of great solidarity and sense of community”, comments the mayor. “Although Lugo was largely affected by flooding and not in a violent way like other territories, it has been affected in a widespread and persistent way. There has been a lot of damage, especially to movable property, for which we are supporting the right of our citizens to obtain adequate compensation”.
