A Panda catches fire on the ring road: the driver is uninjured

Moments of fear last night June 29th around 10pm along the Padua ring road. The firefighters intervened along the Padua ring road on the Armistice flyover, at exit 8 due to a car fire: no one was injured. As a precaution, in addition to the local police and firefighters, the Suem 118 operations center was also alerted, but none of those involved required emergency room treatment.

What happened

According to an initial reconstruction of the facts, the driver of the car while driving along the road noticed smoke coming out of the hood and immediately realized that something was wrong. At the first safe area, he had the clarity of mind to pull over. He stopped and got out while the car caught fire. The firefighters who rushed from the station put out the flames of the petrol Fiat Panda, whose column of smoke was visible from far away in the early stages of the fire. The causes of probable electromechanical nature are being examined by the firefighters’ technicians. As mentioned, the local police worked on the scene of the emergency to divert traffic. The extinguishing and cleanup operations in the area ended around midnight.
