Real life that provides copious comic ideas because, as they say, sometimes it surpasses fantasy, the desire to innovate even on consolidated themes, the work of an engineer, the love for Tuscany and its inhabitants with whom an immediate feeling was born. It is a 360-degree Giorgia Fumo who will perform tomorrow at 9:30 pm in Piazza Ricasoli in Altopascio, in the Piana lucchese.

“Low Pressure” is the summer version of “Low Life”, the approach is ironic but do these millennials often described as lacking in ideas have any justifications?

“In the meantime, they are young people of almost 40 who become adults in a particular era, with other adults of 60, I underline, after having observed them, certain “obsessions”, such as furnishing the house, travels that are necessarily experiences, small things to fill big voids”.

What do you appreciate about Tuscany? “Those who don’t live there don’t realize how lucky they are, just a few kilometers away you have everything: sea, mountains, cities of art and culture. I love Tuscans, I did my first job at the shipyard in Livorno. Then the elderly shoot out even crude concepts with incredible simplicity, impossible to repeat in other parts of Italy. They have a kind of immunity”.

How did you reconcile your career as an engineer with that of comedy?

“Simple, sleeping very little – he laughs, ed. – the double job is not easy but I liked to carry on both souls of my life. The meetings in the office, the trips, the train journeys, have all become ideas for my lyrics, I even have too much material. I prefer everyday life as the source from which my shows flow”.

At Comedy Central they asked the artist what his biggest gaffe was, what was his?

“There are several, if I had to choose the one where I start, in the monologue, with the girls who have just been dumped by their boyfriends. In the front row there was a teenager who started to cry her eyes out and the more I tried to cheer her up, the more she sobbed. Poor thing, she had come to the show exactly to distract herself, she had broken off her relationship like the day before. Obviously I didn’t know it, but I was shocked”.

Some of your fellow standuppers use explicit language, even of a sexual nature. What’s your opinion on this?

“Certain words have always been used to capture the public’s attention, I prefer something else, a different track, where you can get to the wink and precisely because they are now overused jokes, I want to be able to add a touch of innovation, perhaps exploring the manias that characterize us, I find it newer”.
