The reopening ceremony of the historic residence took place yesterday evening, at the end of the works started in 2021, which affected the structure, the garden and the park.

The evening continued with a welcome aperitif and the lyrical concert “Opera in Villa”, included in the program of the fourth season of Classica con brio. The soprano Federica Priscilla Nicodemo and the bass Davide Bartolucci performed, accompanied on the piano by Giuseppe Ottaviani, with the participation of the young tenor Samuele Lattanzi, enrolled at the GB Pergolesi Conservatory of Fermo.
After the ritual ribbon cutting, under the entrance arch to the villa, the parish priest of San Pio X and Santa Maria Addolorata, Don Giordano De Angelis, gave the blessing to the redeveloped spaces.
“This is a moment of emotion and pride that belongs to the entire community,” Mayor Massimiliano Ciarpella emphasized. “A journey started in 2021 by the previous municipal administration is coming to an end, which must be acknowledged for having focused on the redevelopment of this site. There were difficulties to face that we overcame, I thank all the offices, workers and companies that intervened and allow us today to appreciate a result that the entire city can be proud of. Each of us, of every generation, is emotionally linked to this villa, where we have spent moments to remember. Since 1980, when the Municipality purchased Villa Baruchello with Mayor Giovanni Conti, all the administrations that have followed have contributed to the enhancement of this site. Today it is up to us to maintain it as we see it today, to ensure that it always remains well-kept and welcoming, to enhance its peculiarities and make it a hub for culture, training, quality events.”
After the mayor, the municipal manager of the area of services to the territory and businesses, Giulia Catani, highlighted “the pride of seeing a redevelopment project completed to which we have dedicated ourselves with commitment. Villa Baruchello is a place of identity for everyone in Porto Sant’Elpidio, many chose the garden and the woods for wedding photos”. Regional councilor Andrea Putzu highlighted “the emotion, as a citizen of Porto Sant’Elpidio, in seeing a place dear to everyone redeveloped. I thank the previous municipal administration that started this project, on spaces of identity like Villa Baruchello there can be no political conflict, it is a transversal pride to see it as it is today”.
