The version with the 52 kWh battery which promises 400 km of autonomy could cost as much as a Renault Clio

IIn Spain, the electric car market is struggling to take off, despite the MOVES III subsidy program that has been active for three years. For this reason, Renault he decided to get ahead of everyone by proposing a plan incentives until 7.000 euro on their cars and, thanks to this “discount”, the new Renault 5 it is now very convenient in the Iberian Peninsula.
This plan means that only customers who finance their purchase through Mobilize Financial Services will be able to take advantage of this offer, which will also cover the purchase and installation of a Mobilize charging station. However, Renault is not the first company to propose a similar initiative: also Hyundai e MG have already adopted similar measures.
The “Long Range” version under 25,000 euros
Renault will expand the range of the Renault 5 next year with the version “Urban Range“. Thanks to the MOVES III plan, the new Renault 5, in the “Comfort Range” (engine from 150 CVbattery from 52 kWhautonomy up to 410 km according to the WLTP cycle), will start from 24.584 euro. This price makes it competitive with hybrid vehicles such as the Clio E-TECHwhich has similar power and dimensions.
In the end, Luca De Meo – Renault CEO – spoke again about electric, expressing concern about possible revisions to the ban on the sale of petrol and diesel vehicles from 2035 in the EU, underlining that a step backwards would compromise environmental progress. He highlighted the need for infrastructure adequate charging and stability in electricity prices to promote electric cars. De Meo also stressed the importance of making electric vehicles more accessible and commented that young people do not buy cars mainly because the high cost of maintenance e other associated charges.
