25 years have passed since the death of one of the most important songwriters and poets of our culture, who made Genoa his cradle and his muse. The city of Genoa remembers Fabrizio De André with the tribute event “Our Fragile Friend” this July 3, at 9.15 pm in the historic building Villa Grimaldi Fassio, located in the parks of Nervi.

A tribute to the great Genoese singer-songwriter, included in the context of Nervi Music Ballet Festival. The event was created by Antonella RIboldi Brunamonti, founding president of the Cultural Association “SI Gioca Fare”. An evening is planned to remember some of his most famous songs, with many musicians and singer-songwriters who collaborated with De André. The artistic direction of the event will be entrusted to Massimo Arduino, and the direction will be by Sergio Iapino, with the direction of Fabrizio’s niece and Cristiano’s daughter, Alice De André. From Il Mito New Trolls, Morgan, I Trilli, Enzo Paci, “I Notturni-Parole di Faber”, Cluster, Dolcenera, Anais Drago, Naima Academy, Liceo Pertini Vocal Ensemble, Andrea Filippi, Tommaso Colletti. An evening with a perspective that oscillates from cinema to theater and dance. On stage, a small space will also be given to the students of the Liceo Musicale Sandro Pertini, who will perform with the Cluster as a vocal group.

“An important Genoese figure throughout Italy and throughout the world, – says the councilor delegated for International Relations Barbara Grosso –, which has always told the story of Genoa through music and through words which were not only music, but real poems. A tribute to De André in a unique and wonderful context like that of the Nervi parks. It was important for us to give space to an initiative like this which will unite many artists in the name of Fabrizio De André”.

To make the event even more special, Alice will present her father, Cristiano De André, in the interpretation of Fabrizio’s songs, through an intimate and personal story that traces the history and emotions of the singer-songwriter. The program will also include a performance by Eleonora Abbagnato, the first Italian star at the Paris Opera.

“For the first time ever in Genoa we will have Cristiano De André, with his daughter Alice who will present the show, and it will be very exciting because he will speak in first person about his grandfather with his dad – comments Antonella Riboldi Brunamonti. It will be an all-round show. We hope there is a great appreciation, because obviously De André is very complex, and the creation of his songs and his poetry is immense… it would take hours and hours of show. But we only had to collect a few songs, the ones that the artist felt more than he did. It will be an exciting show.”

A special evening, full of fun but also charity: from the Rotary of the 2032 district a scholarship for a theater workshop for children with Asperger’s syndrome curated by Alice De André, and the donation of some musical instruments to the Liceo Musicale Pertini.

“25 years after the death of Fabrizio De André, we want to remember him with great enthusiasm – says Simona Ferro, regional councilor for youth policies. An evening that will give the opportunity to tell Faber’s songs with illustrious artists, through singing and dancing. A way for us Ligurians to remember that a great artist like him made Genoa and Liguria important. It is there that the tradition of music is founded, the roots of our great artists. It is good to continue to remember him, not only through song and singing, but through all forms of art.”
