He spoke for about an hour, then he collapsed. He cried profusely, and finally he availed himself of the right to remain silent. The judge has reserved the decision on the precautionary measure of prison, as requested by the prosecutor Maria Letizia Fucci. However, by Friday, the outcome of the hearing to validate the arrest of Luca Ricci, the 49-year-old worker accused of killing his father Giuseppe and mother Luisa Marconi on the night between Sunday and Monday in their home on via Fanella in Fano, will be known.

Around 9am he arrived at the Pesaro court, defended by the lawyer Roberto Longhini. After having recounted some details – including that of having come down from the upper floor, where he had been living since he separated from his wife, to measure his blood pressure with his mother’s device – Ricci was overcome with emotion. The emotional aspect of the alleged murderer is currently one of the most debated. The man, in fact, does not remember what happened, apart from some flashes. He is apparently not coming to terms with what happened, between tears and memory lapses. The possibility of a psychiatric evaluation is not excluded.

Meanwhile, the search continues for the 12 thousand euros that the Ricci couple should have paid to the new owner of their house on Monday morning, which ended up at auction last October due to their son’s debts. The property had in fact been placed as a guarantee for a loan from over ten years ago, never repaid and linked to a failing furniture assembly business through which the worker wanted to start his own business. The 12 thousand euros should have covered the first two years of rent: the new owner – a plumber from Cuccurano – would in fact have allowed the two elderly people to remain as tenants, as long as they paid the first 24 months in advance. On Monday morning the victims’ home was found literally turned upside down. There is no trace of that money, and it also needs to be verified that there were really 12 thousand euros in cash in circulation. The 49-year-old – who has no other debts to pay – would however categorically deny having possibly taken that money. Meanwhile, on Saturday at 10am, the funeral of Giuseppe and Luisa will take place in the parish church of Fano 2. Bishop Andrea Andreozzi will also be there.
