It will start today, Friday 28 June, Alpago Bike Funtastic, the three days dedicated to mountain biking proposed in Lamosano di Chies d’Alpago (Belluno). The debut day will be dedicated to Italian championship Team Relay, the spectacular team competition. The program includes the start of the race reserved for Agonists at 2pm, the youth categories will start at 3.30pm, and the Amateurs will close at 5pm. The awards ceremony will take place at the end of each test. As for the Agonists, the registered teams are Scott Racing team, Ciclistica Rostese, Trinx Factory Team, Lee Cougan Banca Prealpi San Biagio and Cube Crazy Victoria Bike.
After the assignment of the “leagues” to teams, the day of Saturday 29th June will be dedicated to the fourth and final test of the Italian International Seriesthe most prestigious Italian circuit dedicated to cross country. The first race, dedicated to Junior men, will start at 9.30 (award ceremony at 11). This will be followed by Junior and Open women (at 12, with award ceremony at 13.30) and Open men (at 15, with award ceremony at 17).
The third and final day is scheduled for Sunday 30: the youth categories (Esordienti and Allievi) will compete in a national competition. The first start is scheduled for 8:30, the last for 13:00.
«Overall we will have 800 competitors at the start» he explains Paolo Zanon, president of the Chies Cycling Society and coordinator of the organizational staff. «In these hours we are finalizing the very last details of a three-day event which has the honor of once again hosting an Italian championship and, like last season, the final round of the Italian Internationals. The working group, made up of around a hundred people, has worked really intensely in recent weeks, in particular to improve the track and make it more in line with modern cross country.”
The Alpago Bike Funtastic program of collateral events is also rich. On the evening of Saturday 29that 6pm you will be able to watch, thanks to a large screen set up in the square, the round of 16 match of the European Championship Italy – Switzerlandwhile from 9pm there will be Green Orange Fluo Partyan evening of music and entertainment.
Alpago Bike & Food will take place on Sunday 30th, an excursion open to all to discover the Alpago paths and local gastronomic products. There are two routes available: one of 36 kilometers for a thousand meters of altitude difference, the other of 28 kilometers for 800 meters of altitude difference, to be tackled with mountain bikes, e-bikes, city bikes and gravel bikes. Alpago Bike & Food is proposed by Società Ciclistica Chies, Fiab Belluno, Keepsporting and Associazione Culturale Veses.
