The news came from a few days ago: Shifty Shellshock, leader of Crazy Town, passed away at the age of 49.
According to the Los Angeles coroner’s office, Shellshock was found dead in his home on Monday, June 24.

Today, however, updates arrived on the causes of death, which were not known until now: a representative of the musician, Howie Hubberman, revealed that the cause of death was an accidental drug overdose. “Seth has long struggled with substance abuse issues,” Hubberman said in a statement. Seth was dissatisfied with the daily difficulties of his life. People deal with these situations in very different ways. It is sad that so many lives are lost due to addiction and access to dangerous drugs. Shifty’s story is a real tragedy: too fast, too hard, too soon.”

Shellshock – whose real name was Seth Binzer – co-founded Crazy Town with Bret Hadley “Epic” Mazur in 1995. The rap/rock group is best known for their 2000 single Butterfly which reached number one on the American charts, becoming a hit all over the world.
