Podenzana Ethnographic Museum.
“We are proud that our territory has been chosen by Royal Carribean for such a prestigious event and that the port of La Spezia is one of the company’s destinations, demonstrating the great appreciation from tourists from all over the world. I thank President and CEO Michael Bayley who honors us with his presence. – declares the Mayor and President of the Province Pierluigi Peracchini – Tourism represents an important driving force for the La Spezia economy and the cruise sector contributes significantly to its exponential growth: over 700,000 cruise passengers visited our province in 2023, including the 31% stopped in La Spezia, with a contribution to the added value worth 109.7 million euros. A success resulting from large investments and targeted actions carried out in recent years by the Administration and from a careful policy aimed at the development of Tourism: a coordinated planning which has intervened on environmental sustainability, on the valorisation of cultural heritage and the rediscovery of historical sites forgotten, on infrastructures with over 130 million euros in public works, on maintenance and city decoration. Some important projects were then completed which, for example, saw the return to the city of approximately 5 thousand square metres, previously intended for port activities, thus allowing the sea front to be made increasingly more beautiful and which will also allow the creation of a new cruise station in able to accommodate cruise ships in the best possible way. But also large cultural and entertainment events distributed throughout the year, traditional and sporting events capable of attracting the public 365 days a year. Today anyone who comes to La Spezia in any part of the year will find a lively and lively city capable of offering its guests unforgettable experiences.”
