For fans, or anyone else wanting to travel to Zurich, it will be difficult and expensive to find a bedroom. This is because on the one hand there are almost no offers left on portals like Booking.com, as the Tages-Anzeiger has already reported. On the other hand, the cost is astronomical.
In fact, on Tuesday 25 June, the cheapest hotel room available costs a cool 987 francs per night. One of the most expensive rooms is currently located in the Olympiahotel and costs 3090 francs per night. It is 500 meters from Letzigrund Stadium, where Taylor Swift will perform. And if you love luxury, the night at the Marriott Hotel will cost you more than 5,300 francs.
If we look at the hotels on another Tuesday or Wednesday, we find rooms ranging from 150 to 1900 francs per night. Example: while at the Olympia Hotel during Taylor Swift’s visit the junior suite costs 3090 francs, the following week it costs only 300 francs. With the arrival of the superstar, prices skyrocket.
Apartments offered on Booking.com are even more expensive. In the urban area of Zurich on the night between 9th and 10th July prices start from 1,800 francs. Some suppliers are marked as new on Booking and are running a special promotion for their accommodations with the Taylor Swift concert.
The accommodation rental platform Airbnb is also doing great business thanks to Taylor Swift. An ad titled “Hey Swifties” offers an apartment for 4 people for 390 francs a night. The most expensive listing on Airbnb in an urban area is a top-floor apartment in Zurich Enge, rented for 1,308 francs per night. However, the apartment is a good 20 minutes by tram from Letzigrund.
