There is not Uncle Frac in the list of horses that have exceeded the expectations, and this news was quite expected. But it’s not even on the list As suchand this was certainly less expected. At this point, only Anda and Bola and Remorex remain among the horses considered to be on the eve of the “big” ones. Both admitted directly to the route: there are seven subjects who go directly on the morning of June 29th.
The road that leads to a homogeneous and leveled lot now seems to have been established. Among the seven horses that will go directly to the race there are horses that have a high probability of being included in the batch of ten: Tobacco, Ungaros, Veranu, Viso d’Angelo, Zenis.
They are five horses of quality and experience, they represent guarantees for the captains.
Another experienced horse, who has already run two Palios, is Vitzichesu, which however will have to pass regulated tests. Volpino, already chosen once among the ten, is also at the night rehearsals, while Vankook is not there.
We therefore start from a core group presumably of five or six horses that have quality and experience, to which the captains will have to add some new and debuting subjects, probably at least four.
There are eighty-five horses admitted to the regulated trials on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th June and seven horses directly admitted to the race on Saturday 29th June. These are the decisions of the municipal veterinary commission after the two days of visits carried out at the Ceppo clinic in Monteresi in view of the Palio of 2 July 2024 and after the consultation, non-binding as stated in the Regulations for the Palio, with the Captains of the Contrade who will participate in the Career.
