On display at Palazzo San Giacomo the testimonies of the flood between art and reportage

“The sign of water” Andrea Bernabini’s solo show, curated by Serena Simoni will open on Friday 28 June

“The sign of water that is everywhere you look, in the walls, in the ceilings, in the trees, reminding you of a part of your life that was swept away”. This is the meaning of Andrea Bernabini’s new solo exhibition, set up at Palazzo San Giacomo a Russi and curated by Serena Simoni. “The sign of water” will open on Friday 28 June, at 6pm, and will be open to visitors until 16 September with free admission (Friday 5pm-7pm and Saturday 10am-12pm and 5pm-7pm, as well as during special events). The opening will be accompanied by the performance of Sibilla Berardi, cello and voice.

Within the walls of the Palace, a collection of 60 images between documentation and art, which tell the story of the floods of last May, inviting the public to reflect on the future of our territory.

The exhibition will be divided into three nuclei: video interviews, photographic diptychs and a series of iconic images.
The interviews underline the emotional approach with the people affected by the catastrophe, who lost everything and saw the foundations of their identity undermined. the series of diptychs “The faces of the flood” is instead a work on pairs of people and spaces or objects: a relationship of looks and spaces involved in the disaster, while in the “iconic shots” the footprints of the flood are captured, like the lands transformed into deserts of mud, the kilometre-long strips of waste in landfills or the red tides of polluting materials.
