(AGENPARL) – Wed 26 June 2024 History is Us wins the AIPH national public history award
The project which collects in podcast the stories of the people of Parma who rest at the Villetta Monumental Cemetery wins the best Italian public history project 2024 competition of the Italian Association of Public History which promotes knowledge of history among the general public.
Parma, 26 June 2024. “We are History. The memories of the Parma people on your mobile phone” ranked first in the national competition for Public History projects of the Italian Association of Public History (AIPH) which promotes knowledge of history among the general public.
The project was presented by the curator Paola Greci on the occasion of the sixth national conference of the Italian Association of Public History which recently took place in Rome. “History is Us” was judged the best national public history project; among the motivations, the transversal and multidisciplinary approach, the ability to network, the promotion of knowledge of history, the involvement of different audiences, the participation of the community through digital tools, the valorisation of participatory archives and the use of public history in the educational field.
Public History is history applied to the society in which we live and consists in producing, preserving and disseminating history in the territory and in the social fabric, with different communication languages, with different tools and techniques, addressing a multitude of audiences.
History Is Us
“History is us. The memories of the Parma people on your mobile phone” is a project of the Municipality of Parma and ADE spa, created in collaboration with the Libraries of Parma, with the High Schools of Parma and with Echo Podacsting and Podschool, edited by Paola Greci of the Association cultural ECHO – Education Culture Human Oxygen.
