Yet another accident at the Lazzaretto intersection
This morning, Wednesday 26 June, yet another accident at the intersection of via Macallè, via Ticino and via Col di Lana in the Lazzaretto district. A car, Renault Twingo model, crossed via Macallè from via Ticino towards via Col di Lana while a motorbike, a Yamaha Xmx, arrived, traveling along via Macallè in the direction of Lissone. Both vehicles were proceeding at a reduced speed, also due to heavy traffic.

A 39-year-old was injured
The 39-year-old driving the motorbike was treated by the Inter SOS 118 personnel of Desio and transported to the hospital in Carate Brianza, but he was not in worrying conditions (green code). The young woman driving the small car was uninjured. Two Local Police patrols were on site to carry out surveys and regulate traffic in both directions of Via Macallè.
A dangerous intersection
The Lazzaretto intersection is one of the critical points of the local road network and, in the past, has been the scene of other accidents, some with very serious consequences. The municipal administration has been studying a measure to make the intersection safer for some time, in particular the removal of some parking stalls in via Macallè to increase the view for those coming from via Col di Lana and a hill to raise the entire intersection to reduce travel speed.
