In the early hours of October 7, the hostages Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Or Levy and Eliya Cohen were taken hostage by Hamas. Hamas terrorists watched, shouting “Allahu akbar” (God is greatest), with AK-47s pointed upward, as the truck sped down a road toward Gaza.
The images – taken from part of a Hamas video found by Israel – were released for the first time on the evening of Monday 24 June by the families of the three hostages.
This is the third part of a Hamas video that traces the chronology of the events experienced by the three hostages on the morning of October 7. A section published a few months ago showed terrorists throwing grenades at the shelter where about 29 people were trying to hide at the Supernova desert rave. Goldberg-Polin, Cohen and Levy were all in the same safe house.
The second part, also broadcast previously, shows Goldberg-Polin being led by terrorists in the back of a Hamas van. The third part, lasting two minutes, broadcast late in the evening, was edited and blurred according to the families’ requests. “The video is a severe indictment of the abandonment that has lasted 262 days”the Families Forum said in a statement.
