The event was promoted by SOS Archivi and ANAI Emilia-Romagna, who chose the city of Castel Bolognese to remember theemergency last May, when the two warehouses of the historical archive and the Municipality’s warehouse were invaded by water and mud. Thanks to the work of several forces in the field (Municipality and Union, Ministry of Culture, Fire Brigade, Carabinieri, Civil Protection, Red Cross) the archival material was recovered to be transferred to special cold storage rooms where it is still today awaiting raise funds for drying and restoration.

The day will be divided into two parts. In the morning, a conference will be held in the Library premises with speeches by expert archivists and prevention technicians at a national, regional and local level. In the afternoon, at 2pm, a practical exercise will take place in Piazza Borghi with a simulation of recovery of goods affected by flooding organized by SOS archives, with the participation of Civil Protection volunteers from other regions.
