In Olbia the price of fuel drops

For those departing from Olbia or for arriving tourists it is important to choose the refueler with whom to use. Especially if he intends to travel long distances, the average motorist looks for the least expensive petrol station in the city. This is because a full tank of fuel can lead to significant savings, which translates into many more kilometers to travel.

The April 22 last year the first Conad brand fuel station was inaugurated in Olbia, a stone’s throw from the supermarket “Conad space” in the locality. Olbia Mare, along the SS 125 which leads to Mater Olbia.
The distributor promised competitive prices that went against the trend of the local market, arousing the appreciation of consumers but at the same time the alarm of other petrol stations. In fact, not immediately but in a short period of time, the effect of the price of Conad fuel influenced the other distributors, who had to reduce the cost of fuel, perhaps due to the very large turnout of motorists at the Conad distributor.

The reason for the drop in prices

The average price of fuel, in Olbia, as in the rest of the country, has been progressively decreasing, following the consolidation of a downward trend in international markets, which started precisely, according to the declarations of the president of Unem (Union of Energy for Mobility ) Gianni Murano, in the second half of April. In this period there was a decline in Brent (one of the two main types of crude oil, which is extracted in the North Sea) from 90 dollars a barrel to around 80 dollars. This decline is still ongoing and promises to continue the downward trend, much to the relief of motorists.

The situation in Olbia?

At the time of the inauguration, Conad’s proposal was 1,698 for diesel, euros 1,838 for petrol and 0.698 for gas. It was possible to find savings of around 15 cents/litre for diesel, around 13 cents/litre for petrol and around 12 cents/litre for gas. Today June 23distributors offer petrol on average in euros 1,844 per liter. Diesel is priced in euros 1,714 and the gas a 0.898. While Conad kept its promise of a fixed price, still remaining well below the local average. In the end, it can be said that Conad intercepted the downward trend in fuel prices early. But, even if savings have been significantly reduced, its offer still remains decidedly unbeatable and competitive.
