Milo Manica has been working on swifts since 2018 with studies on phenology and migration. She is an environmental consultant for nature conservation, collaborating with parks, associations and bodies that
they deal with biodiversity. He has been following environmental restoration projects in the Ticino park for several years, in which he monitors populations of different amphibian species, to understand the functionality of the
interventions undertaken by the park. He also chairs the Insubrico Ornithology Group and the ass. Protection of lower Verbano amphibians. Since 2023 he has been councilor for the environment in his city, Angera.

Born in Gambia, like his father and grandfather, Jabel Kanuteh he is a Griot: that is, poet and singer, that is, “he who has the gift of speech”, and plays the Kora, a 21-string harp typical of his native country. For centuries the kings of the ancient African empires handed over their story to the Griot poets, so that they could tell it singing among fairs and villages. In Italy since
2015, after a long journey, ten days of walking in the desert and three days at sea, crossing Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Libya.
Now, in some way it is a journey that is reversed: with his own voice and the plucked strings of his African harp Jabel can accompany us there, through villages, faces and territories that
we can only imagine, making ourselves more aware, of his journey, and of the history of his land.
