Anna Castiglia with Ghali is the winner of the XXXV edition of Musicultura. Both the PMI Award – Best Recording Project and the Critics’ Award dedicated to “Piero Cesanelli”, creator and co-founder of the Festival, go to Eugenio Sournia. Anna Castiglia is also entitled to the Prize for Best Text assigned by the university jury made up of students from the universities of Macerata and Camerino, for “the stylistic quality, the ability to bring irony and criticism into dialogue in a lucid analysis of our time, for having brought together the lightness of storytellers and the clarity of a voice that is not afraid to sing what doesn’t work in society”.
This year a new award was established, the La Casa in Riva al Mare Award, awarded by the inmates of the Barcaglione prison. “For the poetry of a song, of a text of a voice that speaks of love in a direct, original, profound way” they decided to reward Helle with her Lisou.
Then there is room for an honor aimed at celebrating an incredible artistic journey. The University of Macerata and the University of Camerino reward Enzo Avitabile for the quality and coherence of his art. “He collaborated and exchanged experiences with the greatest Italian and international artists, composing songs, soundtracks, pieces for orchestra, creating recording projects that constitute essential points of reference for our music. His voice, his words, his instruments, have drawn a unique expressive path of his kind, respected throughout the world. Singer of the soul, generous poet, he has forged a style where the sacred and the profane, history and everyday life merge into a vision.”
