This is how Roberto Baggio commented, as reported by “Il Corriere della Sera”, the brutal attack he suffered in the last few hours in his villa in Altavilla Vicentina (Vicenza), when a gang of robbers broke in just as the Ballon d’Or was watching the European Championship match between Italy and Spain.
The “family in danger”
Together with Baggio, his two children, his wife and his mother-in-law were present in the house, all sitting in front of the television to watch our national team’s match. “I reacted instinctively”, Baggio told the investigators who are following the case, “because I saw my family in danger and I wanted to defend them”.
