Third appointment of the Rossetti Montano Award, yesterday in Corleto Perticara. A day focused on the celebrations of the twentieth anniversary of Rocco Rossetti’s death, which began with the awarding of awards.
Olga Mazzia, first harp of the theater involved, was connected from La Scala in Milan and was awarded – through Professor Simari (Artistic Director) the first prize of the event, the Lifetime Achievement Award. Mazzia, as the winner of the Salvi concert, performed in Viggiano where she had the opportunity to discover how the pearls of Basilicata should be known and recognized throughout the world.
This was followed by the “Contemporary Wanderers” Award given to Chiara Capobianco, directly from California, but of Lucanian origins. She was enthusiastic and excited and thanked her for what she had received, specifying that her passion for the harp has become her career around the world.
“Contemporary example of many musicians who toured the world in previous years” – underlined the presenter Eva Immediato.
“An award – commented Antony Gallo, the President of the festival commission – which starts from our Region, from the square and for the square.
He leaves to return to this place of daily routine, the driving force of administrative life and which in these days becomes the venue for shows and celebrations that honor the community of Corleto. Community in which there was a limit, namely that of not being able to identify even with a patron saint”.
This is a prize in which the community can now identify with the harp and violin melodies represented by the two protagonists (Rossetti and Montano) in that music that breaks down borders and serves to break down violence.
Hence the importance of issuing the first philatelic postmark for the celebrations of the twentieth anniversary of Rossetti’s death.
Thus began a path of collaboration with Poste Italiane which will see them engaged until 2026, the year in which a stamp will be issued on the occasion of the centenary of Rossetti’s birth. Taking part in this moment were the Mayor of Corleto, Mario Montano, the delegation from Poste Italiane and Doctor Donato D’Onofrio, philately manager of Potenza who specified: “We decided on this intense collaboration last January. Stamp that will mark today and which will see his plaque kept in the museum in Rome.
Cancellation and issue that falls within the scope of the Ministry of Made in Italy where there will be a stamp proposed by Antony Gallo through Poste Italiane, and which will have national resonance as part of musical artistic excellence”. Finally, a commemorative folder was delivered to all those present and to the entire community of Corleto.
Then there was space for the Music Festival of the Pro Loco Unpli Basilicata organized by the regional coordinator of the festival, Rosa Fortunato, who recalled the history and importance of this anniversary, specifying how music acts as a means of connection with the world and with what it is the deepest self and where music is also silence.
Then, Vito Sabia, the President of Unpli Basilicata who highlighted the work done at a national level for this celebration that unites all generations.
Unpli Basilicata always supports the numerous events and which in these days can be seen even more closely with the six Pro Loco Unpli which with various initiatives have joined the 2024 Music Festival. Sabia also declared how Unpli immediately embraced Corleto’s initiative which reflects all the canons of UNPL itself.
Publicly thanking all the Pro Locos who joined the music festival, he recalled how careful work by the Pro Locos alongside the administrations without neglecting the entire community, is that implemented today by the affiliated Pro Loco of Corleto and that it must be the way for everyone to follow.
The third day ended with the concert by Ambrogio Sparagna and the Italian popular orchestra with the participation of the Arpa Viggianese Ensemble.
