BREMBIO Citizen mourning after the death of Pierpaolo Bodini, town in shock

A country in disbelief and shock, ready to participate in the funeral after rallying around the family. The funeral of Pierpaolo Bodini, the 18-year-old who died yesterday morning in Brembio while carrying out some cleaning and maintenance operations on a seeder on the Bassanetti agricultural company, is scheduled for tomorrow at 2.30pm in the parish church of Borghetto. The 18-year-old, resident in Brembio with his family and who was regularly employed by the agricultural company, was overwhelmed by the tool, with a 20-year-old colleague who witnessed the scene without being able to do anything to save his friend. Declared deceased on the spot, Bodini, a profound lover of agriculture as also demonstrated by his social profiles, was well known in Brembio where he was appreciated not only for his industrious streak, uncommon these days for an 18 year old boy, but also for his great sunshine. After recovery, the body was transported to the mortuary of the Zoncada social welfare residence in Borghetto, visiting hours 9am-4pm, awaiting tomorrow’s funeral. The Municipality of Brembio, yesterday the mayor Oriana Ghidotti immediately rushed to the site to sympathize with the pain of father Leandro and mother Monica, has called a day of citizen mourning for tomorrow, Saturday 22 July.

This evening the debate and musical evening organized as part of the Festa dell’Unità will not be held in Piazza Europa. «Following the serious accident that occurred this morning in which a young worker from Brembio was involved, we decide to cancel the musical evening and the debate tomorrow, Friday 21 June, as a sign of closeness to the family. Only the restaurant will be open for dinner. Our thoughts and our pain now turn to Pierpaolo’s family” we read in a note issued late on Thursday evening by the provincial Democratic Party.
