The Ferrari Purosangue has been awarded the prestigious Compasso d’Oro, one of the most coveted awards in the industrial design sector. The awards ceremony, at which Flavio Manzoni (Ferrari Chief Design Officer) was present on behalf of the Prancing Horse, took place yesterday evening in Milan.
The Compasso d’Oro was established in 1954 by the ADI (Association for Industrial Design) and is awarded every two years on the basis of a pre-selection carried out by the ADI’s permanent Design Observatory, made up of experts, designers, critics, specialized historians and journalists. In the history of the award, four Ferraris have been awarded: the first was the F12berlinetta in 2014, followed by the FXX K in 2016, the Monza SP1 in 2020 and the Purosangue.
The ADI jurors chose the Purosangue because it embodies “a concentration of technology combined with courageous typological innovation, which goes beyond the conventional categories of grand tourers, and is an element of concrete innovation in a sector that is mature in the face of global competition”.
