There are four suspects for the death of Francesco Pontone, the 17 year old of Castel San Giorgio involved in an accident in Cava de’ Tirreni, who lost his life crushed between the wheels of a truck after falling from his scooter. The boy was registered in the register of suspects a minor who was driving the scooter on which the deceased young man was travelling, the truck driver and two motorists involved in some way in the accident.
The reconstruction
An initial reconstruction of the accident highlighted a series of consequent actions that led to the crash. A motorist, who was parked on the side of the road, he opened his car door. This led to a sudden maneuver by another car, driven by an elderly man, who it widened towards the center of the road to avoid impact. But this maneuver reduced the overtaking space of the scooter carrying the two young people, who were trying to overtake the car.
Dragged for 20 meters
At that point, the scooter collided with the car. Francesco Pontone was thrown from the saddle and is ended up under the wheels of the truck which was coming from the opposite direction. Her body was dragged for at least twenty meters. The four are accused of vehicular homicide, but the registration in the register of suspects is at the moment only a necessary act to allow the smooth conduct of both the investigations and the defense actions.
