Giuseppe Palumbo wins the Golden Romics

The Golden Romics, the prestigious prize awarded every year by the Rome International Comics Festival, will be awarded to Giuseppe Palumbo during the XXXIII edition of the event, scheduled from 3 to 6 October 2024 at Fiera Roma.

Palumbo, cartoonist and teacher of illustration and comics, is a multifaceted artist who has been able to range between the most diverse narrative genres, giving life to original and innovative works. His career, which began in 1986 on the pages of Frigidaire and Cyborg with the creation of the first masochistic superhero, Lizardhas seen collaborations with the most important homes Italian publishersincluding Sergio Bonelli Editore (Martin Mystère), Astorina (Diabolik), Mondadori, Feltrinelli, Coconino Press and Rizzoli.

In addition to his work as a cartoonist, Palumbo is also an appreciated illustrator. He has collaborated with newspapers such as l’Unità, il Manifesto, il Sole24Ore and SlowfoodMagazine, and was a cover artist for the Gialli Junior series by Mondadori and for Stefano Benni’s novels for Feltrinelli.
